Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer

So my new favorite lip balms are the Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmers in Cocoa (left) and Caramel (right). This brand has always been the go to for moisturizing benefits but the addition of these metallic shimmer colors it was makes them stand out. The colors I love are neutral enough to wear at any time but still give me a little glam. On top of the shimmer there is also a menthol feeling once you apply these to your lips. It was a great surprise after my first application.  Now I don’t go anywhere without these babies in m y arsenal. Winter is coming and my lips will be shimmer ready!

Phototherapy: LED Photon Therapy Light Treatment Facial Skin Care Mask

As crazy as this may look, Phototherapy has become a daily part of my skin care routine. As a teenager, I suffered with acne all throughout high school. I remember my mother taking me to the dermatologist and being given all type of prescription creams that seemed to make my skin look worse. It wasn’t until college that I discovered a skin care center that was much different than the traditional dermatologist offices I had visited before with no success. At the skincare center, there was a spa like atmosphere that I really liked, but I didn’t care how nice the building was  if they couldn’t clear my acne. It was there that I was introduced to Chemical Peels, Microdermabrasion, and Phototherapy.  For the Phototherapy, I would lay under LED lights that changed from green to blue to red. I was determined to find a solution, even if it meant flying back home once a month for treatments, but to my devastation the skincare center closed and finding these treatments became even more difficult. I took to the internet.

To my surprise I was able to find light therapy masks that I could purchase and use at home. These mask were only good for 30 days each but I was fine with that as long as I could buy more. Well my skin was back on track and every month I bought a new mask. All was right with the world. Until the company decided to temporarily discontinue selling the mask  so they could redesign it. I was devastated…again, and again, I took to the internet. This time I found a new mask. Much more expensive but a permanent one. Finally, a long term solution.  I use this everyday for the most part, I even pack it with me when I travel. It has been the best addition to my beauty routine so I don’t mind looking like Michael Myers for 30 minutes a day. The results are worth it!
